da dobrowin: Everton caretaker manager David Unsworth has admitted that he is still in the dark over his future at Goodison Park.
da bet7: Unsworth had been in charge of Everton’s Under-23 team, but was promoted to caretaker manager of the senior side when Ronald Koeman was relieved of his duties at the end of last month.
The 44-year-old lost each of his first three games in charge, but oversaw an important win before the international break as the Toffees came from 2-0 behind on home soil to beat Watford 3-2.
Unsworth is believed to be one of a number of candidates currently being discussed, although the former centre-back has conceded that he is unsure of the current situation.
Unsworth told reporters:
“Very much as it was after the game. I just continue to do my best, give my all for the club. There’s no news to report, I certainly haven’t been told any more on what’s going on.
“I just continue to come in every day, give my best with the staff and the players and we’ll just see where it takes us and what will be, will be.”
Former England boss Sam Allardyce has been strongly linked with the position, whilst Watford’s Marco Silva and Burnley’s Sean Dyche have also been mentioned.
Everton will return to Premier League action with a trip to Crystal Palace after the international break.
