According to Football Insider, Sheffield Wednesday could offer Owls striker Jordan Rhodes to their league rivals Wigan Athletic in order to secure on of their targets in return.
What’s the word?
Garry Monk had a loan offer rejected for Josh Windass last week, and he will now go back in for the attacking midfielder by offering the Latics a player they have been keen on signing all month.

Rhodes’ link to Wigan was initially reported by The Sun’s Alan Nixon, but the club weren’t best pleased with the finances involved.
It appears as Wednesday’s attitude has shifted slightly as Monk looks to bolster his attacking options having already signed a winger earlier this week.
One in, one out
Rhodes has been told that he was free to leave the club before the deadline, provided a club can meet his high wage demands, reported to be around £40k-per-week.

This latest decision could suit all parties as the Owls would be offloading the striker as well as getting someone Monk wants in return. It could be a win-win for all those involved.
Windass has scored four times in 16 appearances for Wigan this season, playing in both a centre-forward and number ten role, per Transfermarkt’s recorded matches.
The departure of their club-record signing would surely open the door for a replacement with Crystal Palace frontman Connor Wickham mooted with a late move.
