da bet esporte: Sadio Mane was one of the many Liverpool players to be away with his country during this latest international break.
In contrast to his club form, though, the 27-year-old has struggled to score recently for his nation. His last strike for the Lions or Terenga came against Uganda during the African Cup of Nations this summer.

Even in that game, he struggled to make a strong impact on despite that goal being the only one of the match. That is according to Motherwell defender Bevis Mugabi, who lined up for the Cranes opposite the former Southampton star. The 24-year-old was clearly delighted with his display, recently saying: “I played against Sadio Mane in the last 16 of the African Cup of Nations and that was a good experience. I think he’s still in my pocket! Maybe it will get me a move to Liverpool.”

Confident words from something of an unknown player. Currently playing in the Scottish Premier League, he has made just two starts so far this season, and has just seven caps for his country. That comes after three seasons in League Two with Yeovil Town, where he made 102 appearances. Not only that, it seems he is yet to find out his best position, with his time on the field almost evenly split between right-back and centre-back.
In all fairness to him, though, he did keep Mane relatively quiet in that clash in the summer. The Liverpool winger failed to create a single chance, and had just two shots on target. Given his quality, you would have expected to do more, but Mugabi did manage to control him.
Despite that, however, there is next to no chance that he would be able to secure a move to Liverpool. Not just based on his current form, either. Jurgen Klopp and Co already have Trent Alexander-Arnold in that role, whilst the likes of Neco Williams and Ki-Jana Hoever are waiting in the wings for their own chance to impress.
It is nice to have dreams, but the former Southampton U23 player may want to make his aims slightly more realistic, even if they were said with certain tongue-in-cheek undertones.
In other news, Liverpool could make a move for a La Liga record-breaker next summer.
