da dobrowin: Jurgen Klopp’s decision to make himself and his senior players unavailable for the FA Cup fourth-round replay against Shrewsbury has been somewhat controversial.
da esport bet: Even portions of Liverpool’s fanbase are against his choice, with some even calling him disrespectful. His excuses that he was forced to make this decision appear to be false, too – the FA have stated that they made it clear any cup matches could lead to a shorter winter break than the two weeks originally planned.
It appears the Anfield outfit’s hierarchy have tried to make amends for the decision by releasing reduced ticket prices. Adults will pay £15, Over 65s will need to part with just £11.50, whilst young adults and juniors will be allowed entry for just £5 and £1 respectively.
Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?
That does represent a significantly lower price than usual for a cup game. Usually, adult fans would be asked to pay at least £16, whilst some could even part with up to £30. However, bearing in mind that this will be a midweek game against a League One side in the FA Cup, it is not unexpected to see reduced prices across the board. A cynical point of view may even say that this is to guarantee a big crowd will still be in attendance for the match.
In all honesty, this does still seem a little hollow. At the end of the day, this would be an easier match to get tickets to anyway – such fixtures are usually not met with as high a demand – meaning that fans who are unable to get their hands on tickets would usually be able to get a seat. Usually, they would at least hope to see a few first-teamers, even if they know that Klopp would unlikely play a full-strength side. However, in this case, only the club’s youngsters will be on show, whilst the 52-year-old himself will not even be there. The fans have still been disrespected, and this just feels as if they are trying to be bought.

It is now becoming a situation in which Liverpool can’t win. Beat a League One side, and it is expected as they are the European champions. Lose, and Klopp will be slaughtered for his decision. These tickets prices do not change the situation at all.
