Grabban joined Forest from Bournemouth in a £6m deal this summer after impressing during loan spells in the Championship with Aston Villa and Sunderland throughout the last campaign.
However, in his six appearances for the Reds before Wednesday evening’s fixture he had failed to score and Forest fans were starting to get restless with Aitor Karanka’s key man. It was the 30-year-old who opened the scoring against the Owls though with a glancing header from Ben Osborn’s inch-perfect free kick.
Forest fans on Twitter were hoping that the goal would allow Grabban to kick on and hit the heights that they had expected when Karanka signed him over the summer.
