da mrbet: As reported by The Scottish Sun, English Championship clubs Birmingham City and Bristol City are both interested in signing Celtic’s loan goalkeeper Scott Bain this summer.
What’s the story?
da marjack bet: Bain’s parent club is currently Scottish Premiership side Dundee, but on loan at Celtic and his contract at Dens set to run out at the end of the season, he’s unlikely to join back up with the Dark Blues.
That makes him a wanted man this summer, especially after his high profile performances against Rangers on Sunday, during which he thwarted a number of opportunities for the Light Blues.
The Scottish Sun report that alongside Celtic’s obvious interest, the likes of Birmingham City and Bristol City are now also looking to snap him up on a free transfer.
With Hibs and Hearts also reported to be keen on his services, it’s clear the Hoops can’t wait too long on offering him a permanent contract if they want to ensure he hangs around Celtic Park.
Should Celtic sign him up?
Bain has already proven he has what it takes to make it as a Celtic goalkeeper.
It doesn’t get much bigger for a Hoops player than making your debut at Ibrox and the mentality he showed to come through that test with flying colours shows he can be effective between the sticks for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
With an impressive back catalogue of eye-catching stops at Dundee too, he’d be a great option at Celtic, even if just as understudy to the ageing Craig Gordon.
Considering he’s available on a free transfer, it makes this bit of business a no-brainer and the Hoops should show he’s a wanted man with a deal before other clubs put offers on the table.
