Aston Villa may have to pay up to £40m for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.
That’s according to Sam Wallace of The Telegraph, and his update has had a number of Villa fans talking on social media.
Villa have already bolstered their attacking midfield ranks by bringing in Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.
Steven Gerrard has also landed Lucas Digne from Everton, with the focus now seemingly on a defensive midfielder and a back-up goalkeeper to Emiliano Martinez.
Bissouma is thought to be a target for Villa and could cost up to £40m, which would be a club-record deal. Wallace of The Telegraph has labelled a possible move as a ‘difficult and potentially expensive deal’, however, it is ‘not impossible’.
Villa fans react
Well-known page @villareport relayed Wallace’s claim on social media. This is what these supporters had to say in reply, with one believing a chase for a holding midfielder is ‘hotting up’.
