da mrbet: Arsenal travel to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday to take on Eddie Howe’s in-form Bournemouth side, who have made a fine start to the Premier League season.
However, the Gunners themselves will be arriving hoping to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 17 matches. The north London club will have to be at their best though to get a result against the Cherries, so manager Unai Emery has a big selection decision to make ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Playmaker FC’s Theo Ogden was at the Emirates to witness Arsenal’s qualification for the Europa League last 32. Check out his match diary in the video below…
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in typically prolific form in front of goal so far this season, having already racked up nine goals in all competitions. However, in the Premier League especially, many of the 29-year-old’s contributions have come after having been introduced from the bench.
Due to Alexandre Lacezette currently being deployed as the Gunners’ central striker by Emery, the 58-cap Gabon international has been forced out to the left flank. From this position, Aubameyang has often struggled to become a cohesive part of Arsenal’s build up play and has regularly struggled with his defensive duties.
For Sunday’s clash with Bournemouth, Emery would be wise to start the in-form Alex Iwobi on the left wing, as the 22-year-old Nigerian can be relied upon to track back and contribute creatively.
That also leaves the Arsenal boss with the option of introducing a potent weapon in the form of Aubameyang from the bench later in the game when his electric pace can test the Cherries’ tired defence.
What do you think, Arsenal fans, should Aubameyang start against Bournemouth?
